Lawrie Flood NAPA

Lawrie is a self taught artist, and lives in a small village on the Essex coast and takes inspiration from the environment around him. The constant changes in light and weather patterns can be quite dramatic which provide him with ever changing subject matter. Also, growing up in Devon, he had the luxury of experiencing the moody landscape of Dartmoor and the rugged coastlines of the South West.

Lawrie uses mainly acrylics, but also works with oils, charcoal and watercolour.

Although he enjoys producing pieces with a photo realistic or illustrative edge, he is drawn more towards working in a looser style, preferably using hogs hair brushes which give a fantastic texture to the paint.

Lawrie was chosen as artist of the month for 'The Artist Magazine' in December 2021.
