Jenny Field NAPA

I work with mixed media and use acrylic paint on wood board, paper and canvas.  Shapes emerge when layers of paint are applied and charcoal, pencil and pastel marks define them.  I often apply collage to add another dimension to the painting.

Found objects from the beach and observations of the natural landscape are inspiring and prompt ideas for sketches and studies.  Paintings develop from these and my aim is to achieve a personal interpretation, harmonious in composition, colour and pattern which provides an imaginative, interesting, abstracted image with elements of realism – I would describe my style as abstract realism.

I studied at Winchester School of Art and regularly attend life drawing classes at St Ives School of Painting. I have exhibited in London, Surrey, Hampshire and in Cornwall at the Penwith Gallery, St Ives, Lizard Art Stableyard Gallery, Trellowarren Estate, The Crypt Gallery, St Ives and Coast Colour Canvas Gallery, Roskilly’s Farm, St Keverne.
