Wendy Clouse NAPA
My work before anything else is an experience, something felt about a subject, an honest statement. It could be the feel of a warm summer day, the gentleness of a figure, the expanse of distance or the solid three dimensional feel of a head. Ideas arise from many different sources but most often subjects that are very familiar to me. I tend to paint subjects that I love and know well. Portraiture is my first love and I regularly paint commissioned work. I have been running a painting school in Shepperton for a number of years and really enjoy helping other people to produce work that they are proud of.
